Abbott Increases Quarterly Dividend by 7.3% to 59 Cents

Abbott Laboratories, which has been paying dividends to its shareholders for a long time, announced an increase in its quarterly dividend. The healthcare giant has consistently demonstrated resilience in dividend payments over various market conditions and significant historical events for more than a century. Continuing this tradition, Abbott increased its dividend by 7.3%, raising the quarterly payment to 59 cents.

This increase is part of the company's ongoing commitment to dividend growth, with a more than 60% rise in quarterly dividends since 2020. Over the past decade, dividends have more than doubled. This announcement indicates that the company has made a dividend increase for the 53rd consecutive year, marking its 404th consecutive quarterly dividend payment.

The company’s stable performance has solidified its place in the S&P 500 Dividend Aristocrats Index, which includes companies that have increased dividends for at least 25 consecutive years. Additionally, Abbott is part of the exclusive group of "Dividend Kings," which comprises companies that have raised their dividends for at least 50 consecutive years.
