U.S. Weekly Coal Production Sees Increase
After a week-long pause, coal production in the U.S. has started to rise again. According to data released by the Energy Information Administration (EIA), coal production for the week ending November 16 increased by 0.9% to 9.7 million tons. However, coal production decreased by 4.1% on a year-over-year basis. Production east of the Mississippi River was 4.3 million tons, while west of the river it reached 5.4 million tons. Since the beginning of the year, production has experienced a decline of 12.7%, totaling 455.0 million tons.
