MASFED Re-elects Aydın Erkoç as President, Renewing Trust
Foreks - Aydın Erkoç has been unanimously re-elected as the Chairman of the Board of the Motor Vehicle Dealers Federation (MASFED), the umbrella organization of motor vehicle sellers' associations in Turkey and one of the most significant representatives of the sector.
The MASFED Ordinary General Assembly was held with broad participation at the Sait Halim Pasha Mansion. Significant steps were taken for the sector with new collaborations at the General Assembly representing nearly 100,000 motor vehicle dealers across Turkey.
In his speech, Erkoç reminded that MASFED was established in 2010 with the aim of bringing together the motor vehicle dealers' associations, which are the most important pillar of the automotive sector, one of the locomotives of the Turkish economy, under a single roof, and that they have made great strides in the sector since then.
Erkoç stated that their primary goal is to contribute to the sector and the national economy, and over this nearly 15-year process, they have made significant strides to ensure that all components of the sector act according to the principle of maximum benefit, facilitating a more systematic and orderly operation and eliminating obstacles in the sector, and that their works continue rapidly and progressively.
In the election, Erkoç was re-elected as Chairman of the Board for a three-year term, stating: "I would like to once again thank my colleagues who have come from every corner of Turkey, from east to west, north to south, for their dedication to continuously raising the service standards of our sector and our country with unity, solidarity, and team spirit. As MASFED; just as we did yesterday, we will continue to address the needs and expectations of our sector, striving to leave our profession to future generations in a reputable and exemplary manner, while driving our Federation forward to a point beyond where it currently stands, worthy of your trust."
New collaborations will significantly contribute to the sector. Following the General Assembly with the participation of associations operating in over 50 provinces, a protocol was signed with Servis Plan; this agreement will bring forth many innovations, including unlimited repair insurance, as D Expert and sigortaladım.com took a significant step in collaboration with MASFED members.
With this protocol, high repair costs that may arise in vehicles purchased after second-hand sales are now covered for the first time with unlimited repair insurance. According to this agreement, there will be extensive guarantees for repairs requiring high costs, especially for components such as the engine, transmission, and differential, based on a special package developed for MASFED by Servis Plan. If vehicles on sale are inspected at a D Expert location, significant issues that may arise later can be renewed free of charge with the support of sigortaladım.com.
Particularly, issues requiring very high repair costs for engines, transmissions, and differentials have been substantial problems in second-hand trade. Although these issues are currently being addressed through post-sale return guarantees, disputes shaped by consumer usage after delivery have occasionally caused problems between sellers and customers, leading to congestion in arbitration and consumer courts. With this innovation, sellers who purchase the insurance at a low cost and gift it to their customers, or users opting for this insurance when purchasing the vehicle, will breathe easier.
The implementation provides a solution to a significant problem in the sector and ensures regulation. Thus, buyers of used cars will find an answer to the question of what to do if a significant problem arises in the vehicle, while second-hand motor vehicle dealers will secure customer satisfaction, enabling them to conduct their business with much greater peace of mind.
